Winemaker's Notes
"The 2022 Plum Orchard floats out of the glass, with aromas of dried strawberries, raspberries, and crushed violets. The acidity skates across the tongue, while stem inclusion imparts subtle notes of white pepper. Through the co-fermentation of Grenache and Mataro grown in sandy soil, this wine emerges as our most feminine expression."

95 Points - Vinous
"The 2022 Plum Orchard is deeply alluring and a real standout of the vintage, enticing with a delicate bouquet that mixes minty herbs, stone dust, lavender pastille and wild blueberries. More savory than sweet, it displays round textures and dark red berry fruits that slowly saturate as saline minerals cascade over a core of zesty acidity. A twang of sour citrus adds further depth as edgy tannins resonate, yet do not get in the way of this zesty and intense effort. There is a distinctly old-world feel to the 2022 Plum Orchard that has me completely captivated." -EG, Jun/2025
94 Points - Wine Advocate
"Comprising 65% Grenache and 35% Mataro, the 2022 Plum Orchard is the most understated wine of the lineup and a wonderful expression of the grace that Paso Robles is capable of in the right hands. The nose combines bright spices, ripe red fruits and a pleasing touch of persimmon-like sweetness. The palate is plush yet buoyant, transitioning to a tangy, high-toned, long finish that unfolds with beautiful succulence and subtle streaks of cleansing mineral notes and silty tannins." -ML, 9/19/24
