Product Overview
Winemaker's Notes
"The 2023 G2 Syrah showcases dark black fruits, peppered and smoked meats, leather, and hints of graphite, all wrapped in a pure, concentrated core. Full-bodied and powerful on the palate, it features a densely layered mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a bold, meaty finish that reflects its serious structure and depth. This wine will benefit from 3–4 years of cellaring and should evolve gracefully for 15+ years."

96 Points - Wine Advocate
"Sourced from a hilltop section with shallow rocky soils, the 2023 Syrah G2 was cofermented with 9% Graciano and presents the darkest and boldest profile in the Turtle Rock lineup, yet manages to retain a beguiling sense of poise and restraint from front to back. Voluptuous, enveloping and strikingly rich, it is an opaque, spice-driven wine, melding a massive, full-bodied frame with a nimble, balanced nature. The finish is dramatic and rich yet also vibrant and surprisingly red-fruited, an energetic departure from its gigantic profile as it lingers with savory and perfumed nuances. This is a fantastic example of Paso Robles Syrah and a compelling calling card for the style at Turtle Rock." -ML, 10/2/25
96 Points - Vinous
"The 2023 Syrah G2 is dark and brooding in the glass, with a dusty blend of mint-laced black currants, herbal tea leaves, pine shavings and incense wafting up from the glass. It displays vivid wild berry fruits over a stern mineral core, with soft textures contrasted by an early onset of grippy tannins. It leaves a spicy, tart citrus sensation throughout the long, staining finish, as hints of licorice and inner sage fade." -EG, Apr/2026
