March 2019 Wine Club Wines

Primary Whites:

Trisaetum 2017 Ribbon Ridge Dry Riesling - This dry, detailed, estate-grown wine shows less richness than the extravagant 2016 bottling, but remains tight and delicious on its own terms. Apple, fennel and white-radish flavors penetrate deeply into the finish, which lingers in a clean crisp peppery resolve. 93 Points - Wine Enthusiast

Ch. W. Bernhard 2010 Hackenheimer Kirchberg Weissburgunder Spatlese Halbtrocken - The lively, fresh, flowery nose of this succulent Pinot Blanc belies the creamy richness of the palate with its flavors of peach and apricot, discreet sweetness, and faint hint of botrytis. This well-balanced wine is an excellent choice for white meat with creamy sauces.

Primary Reds:

Highway 12 2016 Merlot - Fleshy rich plum and blueberry pie notes are tethered to toasty spiced vanilla (a result of the 16 months in neutral French oak ) creating a sturdy balance of fruit and oak. Hints of bittersweet chocolate, cedar and minerality round out the mid-palate and leads you to a velvety lingering finish.

Malina 2011 Cabernet France - Intense red ruby in color with purple hints. A powerful nose forcefully veers in the varietal, penetrating to fragrances of red wild berries and black pepper. The palate lingers on spices with well integrated tannins while finishing off with notes of rhubarb. A well-structured wine to pair well with red grilled and spiced meats and stews.

Premium Wines:

Ernest Vineyards 2015 Romanini Vineyard The Engineer Pinot Noir - The 2015 Pinot Noir Romanini Vineyard "The Engineer" is pale ruby-purple colored and intensely scented of crushed cranberries, wild strawberries and pomegranate with touches of rhubarb, tilled soil and trues. Light-bodied with incredible intensity and perfume, it features very soft, ne-grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and minerally. 195 cases were made. 94 Points - Wine Advocate

Massaya 2013 Cap Est - An elegant distinctive pale ruby wine with a nose that subtly blends violets and ripe red berry fruits leading to a progressive body and a compelling minerality. Seductive velvety elegance overlays an attractive weave of fine tannins, highlighting the minerality of the terroir. Suitable for aging.
