Shibui Japanese Grain Select is a 100% wheat whiskey, and not entirely Japanese. The blending whiskey they’ve brought in for this one comes to them from the lowlands of Scotland. They’re up front about this, and the reason why: they just can’t acquire this profile from a Japanese producer. On the nose this whisky is very fruity and slightly sweet. The taste has more of the sweet floras that are followed by cereal grains that linger throughout. The finish is creamy with the lingering sweetness that is light but not overwhelming.
