Shibui Single Grain 18 Year Sherry Oak is distilled in Okinawa in stainless steel pot stills from Indicia rice and Okinawan black koji. The whisky is matured in sherry casks exclusively for 18 years using both manzanilla and fino sherry casks. This whisky pulls much of its flavor from its sherry casks and has an initial taste of sweet grain. This gives way to fruity notes of baked pear, almond, and some orange peel. The soft notes of chocolate covered red cherries, Madagascan vanilla bean, and black licorice meet with sweet oak and nuttiness on the finish.
