May 2019 Wine Club Wines

Primary Whites:

Bella Grace Vineyards 2017 Vermentino - Color is a clear pale yellow with a sweet mixed tropical salad nose. Mouth feel is silky with luscious juiciness of ripe pear. The ripe pear on front palate gives way to banana pudding and honey. The finish goes on and on as your fills with the pleasant sweetness of ripening fruit!

Westerly 2016 Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc - The 2016 Westerly Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon aged 4 months in neutral oak. Toasty aromas of lemon rind, white flowers and a hint of smoke show on the nose of this bottling. The palate is quite broad and rich, ranging from pear to nectarine to citrus, which will please a wide variety of tastes.

Primary Reds:

Loscano 2015 Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - An aromatic, complex wine with a bouquet of fresh berries and cassis, evolves on the palate to include notes of chocolate, black pepper and caramel. Integrated tannins support the finish with hints of fruit and vanilla.

Chateau Petit-Freylon 2016 Cuvee Sarah Bordeaux Superieur - 90 Points - Wine Enthusiast: "While rich in red fruit flavor and showing plenty of tannins, this is a balanced wine. It has enough structure and fruit to age. Drink from 2022."

Premium Wines

Trinitas 2014 Rutherford Merlot - The 2014 Trinitas Rutherford Merlot is the final vintage for this wine; the Merlot vines in the DeCarle Vineyard were grafted over the Cabernet Sauvignon in 2015. This wine starts with beautiful blueberry and sweet cedar notes. Hints of vanilla, cigar box, and chocolate round out the aroma. The mouthfeel of the Merlot is smooth from start to finish. This wine exhibits the classic Rutherford dust composition and texture. Flavors of cherry liqueur, vanilla, and dark chocolate dominate the palate. One of the classic characteristics of this wine is the texture and flavor of baking cacao powder which rounds out the finish of the wine and brings to life the beautiful dusty tannins.

Chateau La Croix Bellevue 2014 Lalande-de-Pomerol - The vineyard is entirely planted with a high density of 7000 vinestocks per ha. Debudding, thinning out of leaves and green harvest are carried out in the vineyard. The harvest is performed manually to ensure optimum maturity of the Cabernet and perfect sorting out the berries. The wine ages for 14 months in oak barrels (50% of French new oak). Château La Croix Bellevue is the wine with the most typical Médoc character as it is blended with 50% Cabernet.
