January 2019 Wine Club Wines

Primary Whites:

Springfield Estate 2016 Wild Yeast Chardonnay - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Dunham 2013 Four Legged WhiteThe 2013 Dunham Four Legged White is an off-dry Riesling, though the front label makes no mention of the variety. The crisp entry is followed by a delicate sweetness on the mid-palate with hints of cinnamon-sprinkled apple sauce. A flourish of ripe pear lightly infused with lemon and lime finishes this fun and lively wine.

Primary Reds:

Quinta da Zaralhôa 2012 Rumansil - The 2012 Zaralhoa Rumansil is a classic Portugese blend from the winery's terraced vineyards. This full-bodied wine presents aromas of violet, ripe plums, and blackberries, plus secondary notes of dark chocolate and spice. In the mouth, it is balanced and well structured, with soft tannins and a long and persistent finish.

Sparkman 2016 Kindred Red Blend The 2016 Sparkman Kindred Red Blend is fresh and inviting, with aromas of cherry, mocha, plum, barrel spices, anise, and herb. The fine tannins, soft and generous, wrap around a core of black cherry, mint, pomegranate, and coffee flavors. The new label, launched for the 2015 vintage, features an image of a 275 year-old oak tree in McMinnville, Tennessee, where owner Chris Sparkman's father was born. 91 Points- Wine Spectator.

Premium Wines:

Domaine Taupenot-Merme 2014 Saint Romain - The 2014 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Saint Romain Rouge has a dark, ruby-red color. It is refined and elegant, and evokes red fruits like gooseberry, raspberry, and cherry with a touch of spice and smoky earth.

DeLille Cellars 2014 D2 Red Blend The 2014 DeLille Cellars D2 is the winery's entry-level Bordeaux blend that's sourced from 15 prestigious vineyards throughout the Columbia Valley, almost half of those from the Red Mountain region. It's a bit tightly wound when first opened, but with decanting, there is a proliferation of red and black fruits on the nose and palate, including blackberries, cranberries, raspberries, pomegranates, black cherries, and marionberries. Wrapped around these fruit characters is a presence of mint chocolate, black olive, cedar, toasty oak, and vanilla. With bright acidity and good structure, this wine is extremely well built and will reward the patient drinker a few years of cellaring.
