April 2019 Wine Club Wines

Primary Whites:

Sherwood Estate 2016 Pinot Gris - Medium gold in color, this is a rich, ripe and fleshy version of Pinot Gris. Heady aromas of tropical fruits, bruised apples and pears along with flower blossoms are followed by a creamy, weighty palate that squeaks in just enough acidity to keep things from getting overly heavy.

Sextant 2016 Central Coast Unoaked Chardonnay - The allure of the 2016 Sextant Central Coast Chardonnay begins with a lifted nose adorned with an invigorating palate backed by refreshing acidity. Fragrant lemon blossoms and linden accents are followed by golden apple and pineapple notes. It has ample body with a hint of almonds and crushed ginger. The quenching citrus-infused finish with a touch of brioche lingers pleasantly. White: Sextant 2016 Central Coast Unoaked Chardonnay

Primary Reds:

Midnight Cellars 2014 Starlight Sangiovese - Brilliant ruby. Oak-spiced dark berries, mocha and vanilla on the perfumed nose. Offers pliant cherry and dark berry flavors that repeat the vanilla note and show appealing sweetness. Becomes livelier with air and finishes with refreshing, tangy bite, well-knit tannins and a touch of bitter cherry pit.

Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve 2014 Le Combal Cahors - Cosse et Maissoneuve wines are not the norm for Cahors. The wines are full of fruit, but they are uncommonly elegant and round for Cahors, not at all the old school rustic style that people often associate with the ‘typical’ style of Malbecs from the area. Their winemaking is precise and accurate, yielding elegant, smooth and aerial wines that truly express the terroir and that have an incredible ageing potential.

Premium Wines:

B. Wise Vineyards 2016 Trios Cabernet Sauvignon - The B. Wise TRIOS 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is a unique expression of the red soils of our Moon Mountain District estate vineyard. Strawberry and red cherry fruits abound, accented by black licorice and warm oak notes in the nose. Deeper nuances of spice, tangerine, black pepper, and red earth minerality accent the wonderful fruit. A touch of Rhone flair with subtle olive and garrigue notes. In the mouth, caressing tannins envelope with medium dryness and lingering finish.

Domaine De La Ronciere 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape - Very aromatic and attractive notes of blackberry and clove with licorice and black olives. Definitely big fruit, ripe and dark with velvety black pepper notes. Good depth and length with a long beautiful finish and fine integrated tannins.
