"This wine is deep ruby-colored with aromas of black currant, blackberry and dark chocolate, accented by notes of slate and subtle oak. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with flavors of ripe black fruit and a hint of earthiness. Well-integrated tannins provide a firm structure, while the finish is long and lingering with a pleasant warmth and a touch of sweetness. With proper storage, it has excellent aging potential for the next 10-15 years. This wine pairs well with hearty red meats, game birds, aged cheeses and rich desserts."

The flavors range from sweet black cherries and black tea to pine bark and perfectly ripe black truffles, and they fill the mouth. "The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series is blended with smaller portions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec, and it matured in French and Hungarian oak. It has pure, layered aromas of Luxardo cherries, mint chocolate, thyme and forest floor. The full-bodied palate offers Goldilocks ripeness and complex savory and mineral character. "Youthfully coy, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series opens slowly with a mix of dried flowers, incense, mint leaf and blackberries. This is cool-toned and pliant, with ripe black fruits that ride a silken textural wave as a bitter tinge of cocoa adds complexity.
