Uerige Altbier is the classic top-fermented Altbier of Düsseldorf, brewed at the Uerige brewpub in the city's old town since 1862. It is made with barley, caramel and roasted malts, whole hop cones and the brewery's own yeast, and Uerige says it has the most bitter character of any German beer.
Full-bodied and aromatic, it shows toasted bread, caramel and nutty malt, balanced by a firm, dry, bitter finish.
