Winery's Notes
"The 2018 Brut Vintage from Champagne Pol Roger is made from the traditional house vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 20 Grands and Premiers crus vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Produced only in limited quantities the Brut Vintage 2018 has been aged in our deep cellars (33 metres below street level) before being disgorged and released onto the market.
The colour is a crystalline pale yellow, punctuated by a very fine effervescence that is expressed through a delicate and very elegant string of bubbles.
The first nose, subtle on the approach, is a little closed. It gradually opens with notes of fresh fruit, exotic fruits (especially pineapple) and white peach. The evolution in the glass is very discreet, barely perceptible. With aeration, there are notes of fresh butter and pastry cream that rise from the glass.
The palate is characterized by its roundness and volume while presenting a beautiful aromatic freshness. It has the breadth and length for which Pol Roger is renowned. In line with the nose, the palate has notes of pastry, which gives it a lot of character. The finish is a little tangy with hints of lemon and citrus, which leave a nice sensation of freshness and foreshadows promising ageing potential."

"This sleek, mineral-driven Champagne has a lacy mousse and a smoky underpinning, with Meyer lemon peel–infused acidity driving an appealing range of flavors, including nectarine, macerated raspberry, saffron and crystallized honey, plus a touch of toasted brioche. Long and lively on the finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2035. 500 cases imported." -AN, 12/15/24

"From a year marked by above-average maturity—at least as of this writing—and a relatively early harvest that began on August 20th, Pol Roger’s 2018 Brut Vintage, disgorged in March 2024 with a dosage of seven grams per liter, offers a generous and expressive interpretation of this cuvée. Aromatically, it unfurls from the glass with notes of pear, peach, orange zest and pastry, with a touch of exotic fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied, muscular and textural, with a core of rich, sweet fruit supported by succulent yet vibrant acidity, culminating in a long, enveloping finish. Stylistically, the 2018 vintage aligns more closely with the gourmand profiles of 2015 and 2012 rather than the more tensile 2016 or 2013. The cuvée is composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay." -KK, 7/24/25

"The 2018 Brut Vintage is just as impressive as it was last year. Rich and exuberant, with lovely depth, the 2018 has a lot to offer. Pear, apricot, dried flowers and chamomile are nicely amplified in the glass. There's real depth and character. I especially admire the level of energy and complexity for a Champagne at this level." -AG, May/2026

"The nose is lean yet focused, with fresh white peach and citrus zest layered over intense floral depth and framed by powdery chalk. The palate is linear and refreshing, delicate, with stony minerality and subtle citrus oils. Very clean and precise, it is enjoyable now." -ACC, 4/1/26
