"Originally owned by William Bowers Bourn II, Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard boasts a storied legacy. Bourn, esteemed as the final Bonanza King of the California Gold Rush era, owned the Empire Mine and influenced Napa Valley, including the creation of Greystone Cellars. Acquired in 1872 as a family abode, the vineyard remains under his descendants' stewardship. In 2010, Beckstoffer Vineyards procured thirteen acres, mainly planted, from the original estate, featuring venerable head-trained Petite Sirah vines and diverse Cabernet Sauvignon clones. This distinguished Cabernet serves as the cornerstone for one of Parable's esteemed single-vineyard wines.
Intensely aromatic with layers of ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry, intertwined with subtle hints of violet, licorice, and cigar box. Notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and cedar add complexity, while a touch of graphite lends a mineral edge.
Full-bodied and luxurious, with velvety tannins and a rich, opulent mouthfeel. Flavors of blackcurrant, plum, and boysenberry dominate, accented by nuances of vanilla bean, clove, and leather. The wine displays impeccable balance and structure, leading to a long, lingering finish marked by hints of mocha and tobacco.
