Winery's Notes
"This noble grape variety derives from a budding mutation of Pinot Noir and, since it prefers cool climates, it finds its ideal habitat in the hills. The Livio Felluga vinification process gives the wine elegance and finesse, while maintaining the characteristic subtle auburn hues of its colour. It is undoubtedly the best-known Friulian wine in the world.
Our Pinot Grigio vines, mainly Guyot-trained, have their roots in the Ponca soil (Cormòns flysch in technical terms), composed of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin stratified under the sea over the millennia, which gives our wines a unique tanginess and minerality. The harvest took place during the first half of September. The healthy and perfectly ripe grapes were hand-picked in small crates, to preserve the integrity of the fruit. After gentle destemming the fruit was left to macerate for a short period, then softly crushed, and the must obtained was clarified by decantation. Temperature-controlled fermentation followed in stainless steel vats. At the end of fermentation, the wine was kept on the lees for a few months to increase its complexity, creamy texture and suitability for ageing. Once bottled, it matured in temperature-controlled rooms.

"This is Pinot Grigio shows what the varitey can really be, when in the hands of a great. The wine opens with a gorgeous cascade of roasted apricot, citrus preserves, pressed white flowers and a subtle almond whisper. The palate brings some serious swagger with its textured richness, dancing between exotic spices, candied melon, and vibrant citrus. But it's that crunchy acidity and salty mineral finish that seals the deal, the kind of wine that makes your empty glass look lonely. This is how you silence the Pinot Grigio skeptics." -JP, 11/1/25
