"Dominated by Sémillon, this rich, luscious wine has layers of ripe fruit and intense concentration. Wood aging has sustained the richness of the wine and not overshadowed the ripe honey, candied peel and hints of almonds. The wine will age for many years. Drink from 2025." -RV, 5/1/19

"The pale lemon colored 2016 Clos Haut-Peyraguey reveals a veritable cornucopia of tropical notes—guava, mango and pineapple—with nuances of spiced pears, jasmine, fallen leaves and allspice plus a touch of acacia honey. The palate is elegantly styled with all those intense scents marrying beautifully into a perfumed restraint, finishing with a lively citrus lift." -LPB, 3/29/19
92 Points - Wine Spectator
"Juicy, with a solid core of maple-laced orange blossom, peach, mango and persimmon flavors backed by singed almond and crème brûlée notes on the finish. Best from 2022 through 2034. 2,417 cases made." -JM, 2019
87 Points - Vinous
"The 2016 Clos Haut Peyraguey is quite low-key on a nose of beeswax, dried honey and a light marine influence. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening and fine acidity, and spicier than its peers, offering ginger and lemongrass. The problem with this, like many of its peers in this flight, is that it runs out of ideas toward the finish and comes across rather predictable and almost dour. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting." -NM, Jan/2020
