Product Overview
The 2015 Zýmē Tranaltri Passito Bianco del Veneto is named for a Venetian dialect word that means "among ourselves". This unusual dessert wine is made from grapes that are dried on trays for a minimum of 4 months. After a long fermentation, the wine matures in small, 100-litre casks for a minimum of 3 years with neither racking nor topping up. In the glass, it is pale yellow, with greenish highlights, but deepens with aging, tending to gold. The bouquet is of spring wildflowers, acacia honey, mixed nuts, and gun flint. On the palate, it is both sweet and savory at the same time, with impressions of herbs, apple and pear, honey. It's long-lingering, with a vein of minerality that balances all of its components.

"This sweetie is more off-dry in style than full-on sweet and unctuous, with bright acidity enlivening the rich range of graham cracker, orange confit, dried apricot and praline flavors that linger on the lightly mouthwatering finish. Trebbiano Toscano and Garganega. Drink now through 2023. 250 cases made, 75 cases imported." -AN, 5/31/19

"Bright pale golden yellow. Caramel, candied peach, apricot kernel, almond paste and fresh citrus on the nose and in the mouth. Finishes long and luscious with a honeyed mouthfeel. The name "Tranaltri" refers to a party amongst friends, and this lovely sweet wine will certainly be the life of any party." -ID, Jul/2019
