Solerno Blood Orange liqueur as an Italian spirit is meant to celebrate the flavors of sanguinello blood oranges. The liqueur is produced in batches from a traditional copper pot still. While the liqueur itself is almost entirely clear, the bottle is a bright crimson similar to the inside of a blood orange. Starting from a base of neutral grain spirit, it also uses fruit distillates from orange and lemon, a kind of eau de vie or fruit brandy and infuses the result with oils from blood oranges.
