Product Overview
The 1997 Ramos Pinto Vintage Porto is a deep purple color in its youth. It has an elegant and fragrant aroma, a denoted fresh and fruity nose of berries and plums. In the mouth, it is soft yet full-bodied, a solid structure of polished tannins supports the ripe purple fruit, with a powerful and very tasty finish.

"The 1997 Vintage Port, part of our vertical this issue, is fresh, exuberant and simply delicious. Quite youthful in this vertical, it doesn't deliver a lot of complexity or gravitas, at least not yet, but it is hard to resist. Seeming bit too light, but bright and fresh, it finishes with intensity of flavor. Drink Date: 2016-2045." -MS, 10/28/16

"Dark and enticing, with freshly brewed Turkish coffee, allspice and warm ganache hints starting this off, backed quickly by brambly grip and lots of fig and anise paste flavors. A subtle rustic edge on the finish gives this a little character.--1997 Vintage Port retrospective (January 2017). Best from 2020 through 2035. 4,040 cases made." -JM, 2017

"Good full ruby. Very spicy, nuanced nose combines cassis, black raspberry, violet, bitter chocolate, orange peel and mint; showed some medicinal black cherry notes with aeration. Juicy and bright, with dark berry, mocha and chocolate flavors lifted by enticing inner-mouth floral perfume. Dense and fleshy but solidly structured, with tangy acids lifting the fruit. Firmly tannic and subtly long on the finish. Should age slowly." -ST, May/2000
