Product Overview

"Smooth and enveloping, this opens with delicate scents of blue flower, pipe tobacco, camphor and new leather. It's full-bodied and savory, with flavors of raspberry jam, licorice and crushed mint set against a backbone of fine-grained tannins. While it's concentrated, it also has a weightless finesse. Drink 2023–2033." -KO, 9/1/22

"Made with fruit from Rocche di Castiglione, Cannubi and Bric dël Fiasc, the Paolo Scavino 2018 Barolo Carobric needs a few moments to open before the aromas come into full view. Sweet cherry, earth, licorice and rusty nail rise from the top, and on second nose, you might recognize truffle essence as well. I like the vibrant, lifted character of this wine. This is a 5,800-bottle production." -ML, 6/23/22

"The 2018 Barolo Carobric shows terrific energy and focus, naturally in the smaller-scaled style of the year. There’s terrific precision driving the bright red cherry, spice, mint, pipe tobacco and floral nuances. In 2018, the Carobric is a bit nervy, but the aromatics and balance wrap everything together nicely." -AG, Jun/2022

"A supple, elegant red, with licorice and sweet spice aromas and flavors surrounding a core of cherry and strawberry. The long, expressive finish is influenced by light tannins. Best from 2025 through 2040." -BS, 4/30/23
