Product Overview
Winemaker's Notes:
"The mountain really determined the style of the wine. It became obvious right away that the grapes up here were much more powerful than down on the valley floor. I just made the wine itself the same way we did at Caymus, it just was a more tannic wine due to the place."
Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: Howell Mountain AVA
Aging: 32 months in French oak, 100% new
96 Points (#7 Top 100 wines of 2023) - Wine Spectator:
"Lushly fruited, this sends waves of crushed plum, boysenberry compote and blackberry paste out from the core, with a strong undercurrent of cast iron and smoldering tobacco to boot. Grippy and dense, but with a sense of polish and a note of purity in the guise of a pretty violet echo. Best from 2025 through 2040." -JM, 11/15/2023
