Winery's Notes:
"Atelier Ilaria brings together the artistic talent of Ilaria Monticelli and her parents, Napa Valley based winemakers, Anna and Mario Monticelli. Atelier Ilaria is a collaboration and culmination of the family’s individual and shared passions. Each of these bottlings combines an individual wine and fashion design to commemorate a specific moment in time. The progression of bottlings showcases the evolution of their work.
The 2021 Atelier Ilaria Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc showcases beautiful aromas of orange blossom, honeydew melon, mandarin, and lemon curd among layers of crushed stones and purple flowers. The nose also reveals an intriguing underlying mineral and saline component. The wine is lively and bright on the palate yet offers a subtle creaminess from the barrel fermentation and sur lees aging in neutral French oak.
The label design is inspired by Ilaria's first dress that she sewed and designed at 12 years old."

"Made in a richer style, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc has ripe citrus and stone fruits as well as some nutty, toasty nuances that turn more mineral-driven on the palate. It's concentrated and medium-bodied, with a great mid-palate and a gorgeous finish. This is all varietal aged in 100% neutral barrels." -JD, 12/26/23
