Product Overview
Winery's Notes:
"The Taylors Pass Vineyard is located on the northern bank of the Awatere River in southern Marlborough. The average vine age is between14-19 years old. Sheltered from prevailing cool easterly winds, each terrace of the vineyard has varying soil types, stony gravels are nearest the river, whereas the mid-terrace has silt over gravels and the highest terrace is deeper silt over clay-papa base. This patchwork of soil types provides the vineyard with dramatically variable ripening patterns."

"Intense and fragrant, with vibrant yuzu and ruby grapefruit flavors that are fresh and lively, with plenty of intensity and accents of lemon verbena, sea salt and fresh ginger. Drink now. 6,300 cases made, 800 cases imported." -MW, 10/15/22

"Smelling the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Taylors Pass is like a cartoon character lighting a long fuse to a pile of TNT. It fizzes with light and energy: there's tangy citrus like a Sherbet Dip, the light sourness of passionfruit, green peas and sweet elderflower cordial characters. It seems almost ready to crackle and pop. The palate is not quite as vibrant as the nose suggests, offering a lot more calm rather than puppy dog excitement. It is round, suave and textural with a stone-licking texture residing in the mouth on the finish." -RG, Jan/2023

"Strawberry leaf, lemon-lime and ginger charge forth on this aromatic white. In the mouth, it's crisp, refreshing and slippery with what feels like a hint of residual sugar—contributing texture interest more than actual sweetness. It would be a knockout with spicy Southeast Asian fare." -CP, 4/1/23
