"Refined and elegant, but with structure and density underneath. Offers fresh and persistent aromas of graphite, wild thyme and brambly raspberry that fold over onto the palate, where chocolate-covered cherry, cassis and fresh tobacco chime in. Everything is buoyed by fresh, minerally acidity that drives the flavors on the finish around well-formed tannins and a lingering berry note. Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2036. 6,500 cases made, 600 cases imported." -AR, 2/28/25

96 Points - Vinous
"The 2021 Vik is a blend of 77% Cabernet Franc and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from Millahue in the Cachapoal Valley. Aged for 26 months in barrels and 10% in amphorae, this dark garnet wine reveals aromas of blackberry and raspberry, complemented by notes of ash, boldo, bay leaf and undergrowth, all set against a backdrop of cedar. On the palate, it is dry, delicate, and finely grained, with a juicy and vibrant mouthfeel that departs from the oxidative, tired style of the past. With the blend now excluding Carménère and increasing the proportion of Franc, the wine has shed its previous clingy and bold character. The 2021 vintage is precise, slightly compact and absolutely flavorful." -JH, Jul/2024

"Winemaker Cristian Vallejo has created an elegant and vibrant expression of the Millahue Valley wines. The 2021 vintage shows remarkable freshness and depth. The nose exhibits aromatic wild berries, with a subtle hint of flintstone. Optimal acidity complements the velvety texture and elevates the perfectly ripe red fruit, followed by notes of rosemary and graphite. A dash of wood spices enhances the experience." -JV, 11/1/25

"A blend of 77% Cabernet Franc and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Vik spent 26 months in proprietary barrels and a small portion of proprietary amphora. A leathery, chocolate-driven bouquet supported by dark fruits and creamy overtones leads to a proportionally sleek, ripe and glossy palate. The finish is lavish and framed by fine-grained, drying oak tannins." -ML, 3/13/25
