Product Overview
The 2018 Te Mata Estate Elston Chardonnay is named for Elston Hall in Nottinghamshire, the ancestral home of Charles Darwin's family. It shows captivating notes of roasted hazelnuts, cashews, and citrus fruits on the nose, alongside crème brûlée and nougat. Tropical fruit, pineapple, intense white peach, and ripe lemon all radiate across the palate. With its signature balance, the Elston Chardonnay has vibrant acidity and a fine, lingering finish that is lush and powerful.

"This shiny, golden-hued Chardonnay is richly fruited, with flavors reminiscent of pineapple, cream and toasty oak. It offers plenty of concentration and a precise structure. The alcohol of 14% is on the hot side with a slightly briefer-than-hoped-for conclusion." -RG, Nov/2020
