Product Overview
93 Points - Wine Advocate
"Floral, with loads of black raspberry and blueberry fruit, the 2014 Cabernet Franc is 85.5% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 64% new French oak. The flowery characteristics are pure Cabernet Franc, and that follows through to the beautiful texture of the wine, which is deep and intense, but never seems all that heavy (which is why Cabernet Franc is so different from Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon). There is terrific uplift and vibrancy in this wine, which can be drunk now or cellared for another 15 or more years." -RP, 10/28/16
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"Blended with 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, then aged 18 months in 64% new French oak, this is a lovely example of the variety: velvety, with smoky undertones of oak. Milk chocolate, raspberry and wild truffle combine well on the medium-bodied palate, the finish bright and focused in acidity." -VB, 3/1/18
91 Points - Vinous
"The 2014 Cabernet Franc, the first vintage off this property, is intriguing. Expressive Franc aromatics lead to a core of expressive dark cherry, cedar, licorice and sweet tobacco. Silky, gracious and medium in body, the 2014 is quite attractive today. This is only the second crop off these young vines that were once part of the Potel holdings Jackson Family Wines purchased a few years ago." -AG, Oct/2016
