Product Overview
Importer's Notes
"Vogelgarten (the “birds’ garden”) marl and limestone, south-east facing soil located between Grand Cru Furstentum and Grand Cru Mambourg. The steep slope optimises exposure to the sun. It produces opulent Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris with great aromatic complexity, elegant structure and good ageing potential.
Seducing floral nose with touches of grapefruit and roses. Offers a firm yet gentle mouth feel, generously medium-bodied, built on the backbone of a mild acidity and soft tannins. Ending on a persistent and pleasant bitterness.
Great with vegetable-based appetizers and starters. Marries very well with flavourful dishes like caramelized pork with Szechuan pepper and five spice roast duck, as well as with the exotic spices of Indian, Asian and Moroccan cuisines. Beautiful accompaniment to spicy sausage, tabouleh and middle-eastern cuisine. Good alternative to sweet Gewurztraminers with soft to medium-flavoured cheeses."
