Product Overview
The 2011 Domaine Tatsis Xinomavro, from the brothers Periklis and Stergios Tatsis, is a traditional Greek wine farmed and vinified using organic and biodynamic principles. The wine sees one year in used oak before bottling but is held back at the winery for several years to represent how the brothers feel the wine should be enjoyed, and as such, 2011 is the current vintage just released a few months ago. Xinomavro is sometimes compared to Nebbiolo, an apt choice since aged Xinomavro often resembles Barolo, but especially with this wine where the aromas and flavors are very much on the savory side, offering notes of tart cherry, cedar, tobacco, and dried herbs.
Note: This minimal-intervention wine normally pours a cloudy, brick-red color.
