"Situated at 1700 feet above sea level, this vineyard was planted in the 1990s; it's the first year Di Costanzo has worked with the fruit, and the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Charlie Smith Vineyard is an auspicious debut. It's aromatically complex, offering up notes of pencil shavings, cool graphite and mint alongside cassis, black cherries and blueberries, plus mountain hints of sage and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, this is a rich, concentrated effort, sturdy and tannic but ripe, with a long, dusty finish. Just give it some time in the cellar." -JC, 5/4/23
