"The Cerbaia 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is silky and polished. There are small berry nuances on the bouquet with background notes of spice, tar and dried rose. These fragrant layers are delicate, light and softly intermingled. There is more power in terms of mouthfeel; however, and both the tannic impact of the wine and its freshness leave a lasting mark. That hot 2017 vintage punch definitely comes through at the end, so I recommend giving this bottle ample time to age and soften. Production is 10,000 bottles." -ML, 2/17/22

"The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino bursts from the glass with an intense mix of crushed raspberries, medicinal cherry, rose and exotic spice. This is a vibrant and juicy effort, displaying soft textures and ripe red and hints of blue fruit motivated by zesty acidity. It leaves a staining of primary concentration, along with pretty inner florals that help to balance the experience, as sweet tannins linger yet fail to hinder the 2017’s momentum.
