Winery's Notes
"The Campo alle Comete estate is located at the foot of Castagneto Carducci, the only municipality that holds the prestigious DOC Bolgheri denomination. Here is also born our "Stupore", a wine that brings the peculiarity of Tuscan coast to full expression.
Intense ruby red color. On the nose, fruity hints of fresh plum, sweet roasted cocoa and tobacco in addition to the balsamic aromas typical of Bolgheri's wines. On the palate it is dry, rich, and well balanced with ripe fruity notes, smooth tannins and a long aftertaste."

"This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot features alluring aromas evoking cassis, black-skinned berry and underbrush. The concentrated palate offers black plum, tobacco and mocha alongside polished tannins." -KO, 5/1/20

"This is 60% Merlot, 20% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Petit Verdot aged in once-used barrique and tonneaux for 12 months. The 2017 Bolgheri Rosso Stupore shows some vintage ripeness with dried cherry and plum. You taste the skins of those fruits with some bitterness and astringency as well. Some sweet-potato beef stew should do the trick. The effect is simple and downplayed with a touch of sourness in this batch of 12,000 bottles." -ML, 12/17/20

"This smooth, firm red is infused with plum, black cherry, freshly tilled earth and cigar box flavors. The tannins leave a drying feel on the lingering finish. Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2028. 4,500 cases made, 90 cases imported." -BS, 10/8/20
