Trinitas 2014 Rutherford Merlot

The 2014 Trinitas Rutherford Merlot is the final vintage for this wine; the Merlot vines in the DeCarle Vineyard were grafted over the Cabernet Sauvignon in 2015. This wine starts with beautiful blueberry and sweet cedar notes. Hints of vanilla, cigar box, and chocolate round out the aroma. The mouthfeel of the Merlot is smooth from start to finish. This wine exhibits the classic Rutherford dust composition and texture. Flavors of cherry liqueur, vanilla, and dark chocolate dominate the palate. One of the classic characteristics of this wine is the texture and flavor of baking cacao powder which rounds out the finish of the wine and brings to life the beautiful dusty tannins.
