Product Overview
Winery's Notes:
"Deep ruby red colour. Concentrated nose showing plum and berry character. On the palate full and round, with soft tannins and a long, fruity, peppery finish. This wine is released after about 30 months of ageing; anyway, more years of cellaring will contribute to develop bothstructure and complexity. Extremely rich and structured wine, we suggest to match it with roasted meats, stewed meats and aged cheeses."
Varietal Composition: 93% Sangiovese, 7% Colorino
Appellation: Chianti Rufina DOCG
Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% new, followed by 6 months in the bottle prior to release

"The nose is savory yet varied, with notes of meat, balsamic, oregano, stone and wood, while black cherries and blackberries provide some balancing succulence. The interplay between the black cherries and the more savory notes continues onto the palate, where acid and tannin set up a peppery finish." -DC, 12/31/23
