Product Overview
(93-95) Points - Wine Enthusiast
"93–95. Barrel Sample. This almost dry wine is full of botrytized fruit tones. Well balanced, it is likely to turn into a rich, dense wine as it matures, with ample acidity that shines on the finish." -RV, 4/1/17
93+ Points - Wine Advocate
"The pale lemon colored 2016 Doisy-Vedrines is a little closed to begin, giving way to notes of lemonade, grapefruit, white peaches and yuzu with wafts of ginger, honeycomb and crushed rocks. The palate is wonderfully elegant and refreshing with delicate citrus and mineral layers and a lively citrus lift to the finish." -LPB, 3/29/19
90 Points - Vinous
"The 2016 Doisy-Védrines has a rich, intense bouquet of marmalade and apricot scents, although there is some SO2 that just veils these aromatics. The palate is well balanced with satisfying purity on the entry. The acidity is nicely judged, but some complexity and mineralité are lacking on the somewhat predictable finish. I have had superior bottles of this, hence the question mark. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting." -NM, Jan/2020
