93 Points - Vinous
"A powerful, deep wine, the 2013 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock is just beginning to open up in its aromatics. Deep, pliant and generous on the palate, the 2013 possesses lovely depth to match its dark, brooding flavor profile. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, leather and sage add to the wine's racy personality." -AG, May/2017
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"Quite dark in the glass, this wine, which is made with 6% Viognier, shows the darkest of purple fruit scents on the nose, and needs quite a bit of time to start opening up, so tightly wound it is. The grippy, tangy and acid-driven texture is what compels the palate, where flavors of blackened blackberry, savory dried beef and char rise firm tannins deep into the finish." -MK, 6/1/17
90+ Points - Wine Advocate
"Mulberry, blackberries, violets, and a savory dried pepper, graphite and crushed rock/dried soils characteristic all emerge from the 2013 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock. This wine is co-fermented with 6% Viognier and aged 21 months in 40% new French oak. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured and balanced, it has notable tannin and a good finish. It will drink well through 2025." -JD, 10/28/16
