The 2018 Lydian Syrah, part of a new side project from Avennia designed to serve as an introduction to the winery, is deeply colored, with notes of black plums, blueberry, smoked meat, flowers, and herbs. A balanced, fruity wine with a savory finish.

88+ Points - Vinous
"Bright medium ruby. Medicinal scents of kirsch, blackberry, licorice and menthol; the least expressive of these Lydian wines in the context of their varieties. Blackberry and licorice flavors show a faint salinity but need some time to open. Finishes with firm tannic and classic dryness. The least pliant of these Lydian wines, and the most youthful and in need of patience." -ST, Dec/2020
