Barleywine / Wheatwine / Old Ale
Compared to the typical beer, these barley and wheat "wines" are more malt and sugar forward, leading to a completely different flavor profile and wine-like ABV (between 6-12%). To balance the malt heavy concoction, more hops are required, thus making these Old Ales flavor dense, full bodied, medium hopped, translucent and richly colored, and great to age.
