"The blend combination of the wine makes it unique to South Africa— Grenache, Syrah and Pinotage. The Grenache imparts florals and freshness, Syrah contributes its characteristic spice and structure and the Pinotage adds fruit depth to the wine. Made from their younger planted Grenache and Pinotage in combination with some of our higher lying Syrah, this special South African red blend provides ample enjoyment now but is a wine that will reward a bit of cellaring."

"Made with 27% Pinotage and the remainder split between Grenache and Syrah, the 2021 Red Blend has a fruity, spicy and softly leathery nose with notes of turned earth, cedar and dusty cherry. Medium-bodied and with 13% alcohol, the palate is fresh and earthy and offers firm gripping tannins with energetic acidity that needs time in the bottle to find its stride. I suspect this will drink better after a few years, but it's a tad too tight and angular right now. Give it time." -AM, 7/31/23
