89 Points - Wine Advocate
"Filippo Antonelli's single-vineyard releases from 2016 show beautifully, and those results come at the expense of the 2016 Montefalco Sagrantino that fails to offer the same level of clarity and intensity. This more subdued expression delivers the basics—dark fruit, aromas of exotic spice and bitter chocolate—but at a lower threshold. The wine sees three weeks of skin maceration in stainless steel and moves over to large oak casks made from Austrian oak for 36 months. Production is an ample 57,000 bottles." -ML, 5/4/23
