Product Overview
96 Points - James Suckling
"Deep blue and black fruit here, with floral, spicy and balsamic accents. Brooding and complex. You have to fathom the power of tannin on the palate, as the texture is so ultra-fine and polished. But don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of tannins here, only so seamless that they make it taste so effortless. Naturally concentrated, juicy and long. Delicious now, but you can hold for added complexity."
93 Points - Vinous
"The 2018 Malbec Black Tears from San Pablo, Tunuyán spent 16 months in new and used barrels. A vivid purple hue. The nose presents notes of ripe plum, country herbs and hints of mint with a little jam and blueberry. Intense and juicy with precise freshness, the tannins are slightly reactive and finely grained." -JH, Sep/2022
92 Points - Wine Spectator
"Delivers aromas of petrichor and dried violet that make for an alluring entry, while the palate offers nice vibrancy to well-defined plum and red currant flavors. Offers nuances of mineral and olive that fold in around fine tannins and a lingering note of dark chocolate. Drink now through 2034. 2,500 cases made, 1,100 cases imported." -AR, 11/15/22
