Product Overview
Winery's Notes:
"A reflection of the rugged location of our originally farmed, low-yield vineyard, this Chardonnay is an expression of its place: lean and crisp with resilient character. Sitting on gross lees until bottling, at which point it’s bottled unfined and unfiltered. Following his grandfather’s arrival to California in 1781, Juan Pacifico Ontiveros took ownership of the Rancho Tepesquet Land Grant at the crossing of the Sisquoc and Cuyama Rivers. Here, with his wife Martina, he built a life and a family, yet over the next several generations, the land was sold off in pieces. Now, our story continues at Rancho Viñedo Vineyard, part of the original Ranchos de Ontiveros land, and brings our family’s legacy full circle—back to where it began."

"From own-rooted vines almost five decades old, this bottling begins with subtle yet focused aromas of sea salt, lime pith and light pear. There's a tight edgy and ashy grip to the palate, framing Meyer lemon-peel and light almond flavors." -MK, 10/1/22

"The 2019 Chardonnay Doña Martina is wonderfully classy and polished from start to finish. Lemon peel, dried flowers, chamomile and white pepper give this airy, mid-weight Chardonnay tons of personality. A hint of French oak works well in adding just enough texture to fill out the mid-palate. This is such a classy wine." -AG, Jun/2021
