Product Overview
91 Points - Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Don Nicanor Malbec was produced with grapes from Valle de Uco and Luján de Cuyo in similar proportion, fermented with selected yeasts and with 60% of the wine matured in oak barrels for 12 months. It has contained ripeness at 14.5% alcohol and is juicy and peachy, with black fruit (cassis, blackberry) and herbs. It is more serious, perhaps with a more reductive personality, with good concentration, tension and balance. Modern, very good value and a traditional name. 350,000 bottles produced." -LG, 11/30/22
90 Points - Vinous
"The 2021 Malbec Don Nicanor is made with grapes from Luján and the Uco Valley, Mendoza and was aged for 12 months in French oak. Purple in hue. The nose offers notes of fresh and ripe plum, white pepper and hints of oak. It’s juicy in the mouth with taut tannins and a degree of volume supported by the precise freshness. A wine in which each terroir lent its distinct character." -JH, Sep/2022

"Flavors of fresh thyme and violet make for an attractive entry, with a toasted vanilla bean note adding to the fleshy plum core, while crunchy mineral details fill out the finish. Drink now. 8,300 cases made, 4,000 cases imported." -AR, 4/22/24
