The nose reveals enticing aromas of blackberries, plums, and black currants, intermingled with hints of cracked black pepper, violets, and a touch of mocha. Rich and velvety, this Petite Sirah delivers complex layers of black fruits, spice, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla on the palate, culminating in a long, persistent finish.
With its bold flavors and robust tannic structure, Petite Sirah is at its best when paired with equally rich and full-flavored dishes. Smoked and barbecued meats are a natural choice as well as beef stroganoff, chicken in molé sauce or stuffed peppers. Petite Sirah also pairs beautifully with strong, aged cheeses such as aged Gouda or a bold bleu cheese to enhance the wine’s dark fruit flavors and complement its savory undertones."
