Legend says when John, the last Lord of the Isles was sentenced to death, he fled to the hills. The Earls Atholl and Crawford sought after John and discovered where the fugitive was hiding out. Earl Atholl ordered that the nearby well be filled with a mixture of whisky, honey, herbs and oatmeal causing the Lord of the Isles to enjoy the drinking water very much and leading to his capture. Hence Atholl Brose' was created. A deliciously smooth scotch whisky liqueur.
