Importer's Notes
"From this estate’s oldest vineyard overlooking the Rhône river, this is truly wonderful wine that will put many more prestigious appellations to shame. Deep, dark purple in color this wine is opaque, and in fact looks thick where it meets the glass. The aromas are of blackberry, leather, smoked meat and earth tones. In the mouth, it has near-perfect balance with thick, sweet fruit, but nice, lively acidity. Very difficult to resist now, though it will benefit from 5-10 years of cellaring. Only 25 cs imported to the US."

93+ Points - Wine Advocate
"Take the Empreinte and kick it up a notch, as the vines here are older (50 years versus 25), the yields lower (35 hectoliters per hectare versus 40) and the élevage longer (18 months in demi-muids versus 12). All the same elements are present in the 2019 Saint Joseph Madone but turned up in intensity. It remains a medium-bodied wine loaded with violets and purple raspberries, tannic but mouthwatering, with a long, vibrant finish. It should age well for at least a decade." -JC, 1/20/22
