Product Overview
Whiskey, but not a whiskey. The new Cascade Moon offering originally entered the barrel at 115 proof, where it was aged for 15 years in Cascade Hollow’s single story rickhouses. Cascade's General Manager released a statement that "as a result of the curious conditions experienced by these barrels, the proof of the offering dropped to 79.8, below the minimum standard to be classified as a whiskey."
The distiller’s notes describe the Cascade Moon 15 Year Old Barrel Proof as a spirit with a surprising depth of character, offering an aromatic and tropical nose, with a finish of leather and oak.
The release of Cascade Moon 15 Year Old Barrel Proof comes shortly after the Cascade Moon 13 Year Old Rye won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in May.
