"Rejón is our best Tempranillo vineyard, located in El Pego in the region of Toro, and is around 130 years old. The low yielding fruit shows the essence of an indigenous grape that reflects, like no other, the land where it is from. It has an opaque purple color, and is very intense and complex on the nose with ripe black fruits (blackberries, plum) and mineral notes. It displays an unctuous mouthfeel, powerful and rounded, well-structured and meaty but at the same time balanced with round and wide sweet tannins. Elegant and flavorful, tasty with a long finish. Rejón is a wine that conveys, through the old vine where it comes from, the serenity and complexity of a fine wine."

"The 2019 Tempranillo Rejón is sourced from a single vineyard in El Pego, Castilla y León and aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. Garnet in color, it suggests delicate aromas of dried plums and blackberries, complemented by balsamic and bay leaf notes, all against a backdrop of cedar. Rich and concentrated, the bold and polished tannins create a lighter structure, as in some Tempranillos from Rioja. This is a ripe and nuanced red wine with balanced energy (16%)." -JH, Dec/2023
