Product Overview
The 2019 Terrassen Gamay Noir is sourced from a 20-year-old vineyard on the west side of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The Gamay vines were grown from cuttings from Beaujolais. After gentle foot trodding and 9 days of cold soak, the juice is 100% whole cluster fermented (partial carbonic maceration), half with indigenous yeasts and half with a Burgundy yeast for nearly 2 months in open-top fermenters. It is then moved to old barrique for malolactic fermentation and 8-month elevage, then bottled unfined and unfiltered. Only 3 barrels made.
