Taylor Fladgate created the LBV category, to satisfy the demand for a high quality ready-to-drink alternative to vintage port. Unlike vintage port, which is bottled after only two years in wood and ages in bottle, LBV is bottled after four to six years and is ready to drink when bottled.
The 2013 Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Port shows a deep purple ruby in color and offers an elegant, perfumed, floral nose, with notes of damsons, dark cherries and cassis. The palate is saturated with dark chocolate, raspberries, cedar spice, a touch of leather, and licorice with elegant and well integrated tannins.

"Plush and warm in feel, with melted black licorice, fruitcake and ganache notes holding sway over the fleshy core of plum and blackberry confiture flavors. A singed alder hint through the finish gives this a pleasant hint of rusticity." -JM
