Product Overview
The 2016 Sonoma-Cutrer Les Pierres Chardonnay is sourced from a very rocky vineyard where the vines have to struggle. Grapes are hand-harvested and hand-sorted, then whole-cluster pressed and barrel fermented on fine lees. On the nose, the aromas are rich with notes of lemon, citrus blossom and lemon curd laced with light chalky, mineral scents that are highlighted with sweet oak and lightly toasted nut. Bright citrus flavors, melon and lime are well integrated with the oak and complimented with flavors of roasted nuts, barrel spice, and mineral notes. The wine has a beautifully balanced mouthfeel with an elegant mid-palate creaminess. The lingering, juicy finish delivers Sonoma-Cutrer's signature citrus-laced acidity.
