The core of the blend in the 2017 Seghesio Cortina Zinfandel comes from the Cortina Vineyard planted in 1972 in Dry Creek Valley. This site is named after the gravelly loam soils prevalent up and down Dry Creek Valley. Due to the prevailing afternoon breezes in Dry Creek Valley, the flavor profile tends towards red fruit. Bright aromas of lilac, wild blueberry tart, cedar, and moss give way to bright acidity on the palate. Cortina Zinfandel features vibrant blue fruit and a touch of white pepper that carries through to the wine's long, elegant finish.

"This brawny, unabashedly ripe, supple wine is thick in baked plum, dark cherry and mocha, with a viscosity that expands on the palate. Baking spice and cola mingle and add to the opulent style." -VB, 5/1/20
