The 2016 Campogiovanni Rosso di Montalcino by San Felice is a medium-bodied, ruby red wine, with notes of cherry, blackberry, and cedar wood. Its fresh, soft flavor with a surprisingly long finish pairs well with pasta dishes with meat, mushroom, or truffle ragout, and with main courses of pork or veal in sauce.
Varietal Composition: 100% Sangiovese
Appellation: Rosso di Montalcino DOC
Aging: 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by 2 months in the bottle prior to release

"Woodland-berry, fragrant blue-flower, wild-herb and new leather aromas lead the nose. Fresh and savory, the smooth accessible palate doles out raspberry compote, juicy Marasca cherry and licorice framed in polished tannins. Drink through 2021." -KO, 6/1/19

"A textbook Sangiovese, offering cherry, leather, earth and wild herb flavors that fade into light, dusty tannins. Very elegant, with fine length. Drink now. 3,300 cases made, 1,300 cases imported." -BS, 10/15/18
